Homecoming Corsages — the Season Is Now

Homecoming dances in Orange County fall in September and October, usually the weekend of the homecoming football game. If your dance is coming up, a wrist corsage and boutonnière ordered by 8 PM Pacific can be ready the same day — though for a custom color, a few days' notice gives us room to source exactly the right blooms.

Prom, Winter Formal and Sadie Hawkins

The same corsages and boutonnieres work for every formal on the school calendar: winter formal in the colder months, Sadie Hawkins (where the traditional roles flip and she gives him the boutonnière), and prom in the spring. Whatever the dance, the rules are the same: tell us the dress color, pick wrist or pin-on, and decide whether you want a matching boutonnière.

Custom Color Matching to the Dress

Our ready-to-order corsage is soft blush pink with white baby's breath and eucalyptus on a pearl bracelet, and the boutonnière is a single white rose — a pairing that suits most dresses and suits. For navy, emerald, burgundy, gold, or anything else, send us the dress color through the custom order form or call (657) 245-4736, and we will design the corsage and a matching boutonnière around it.

Wrist Corsage or Pin-On?

A wrist corsage is the usual choice for prom and homecoming: it works with strapless and thin-strap dresses, holds up while dancing, and leaves no pin holes in delicate fabric. A pin-on corsage suits a jacket or a parent or chaperone. Boutonnieres pin to the left lapel, over the heart; ours comes boxed with two pearl pins.

Prom & Homecoming Corsage FAQ

How far ahead should I order a prom or homecoming corsage?

Ordering a few days to a week before the dance is the comfortable choice, especially on big homecoming and prom weekends or if you want a custom color match. You do not have to plan that far ahead, though: our corsages and boutonnières are same-day eligible, so an order placed by 8 PM Pacific can still be ready the same day.

Can I get a corsage or boutonnière the same day?

Yes. Order by 8 PM Pacific and we make it the same day, for pickup in Irvine or delivery across Orange County. Orders placed after 8 PM are accepted and scheduled for the next day. If the dance is tonight and you are cutting it close, call (657) 245-4736.

Can you match the corsage to my dress color?

Yes. Our ready-to-order corsage is blush pink with white baby's breath, and the boutonnière is a white rose, both of which go with most dresses and suits. For a different color, send us the dress color through our custom order form at https://gemmaflowers.com/custom or call (657) 245-4736, and we will build the corsage and a matching boutonnière around it.

Do you take custom prom or homecoming requests?

Yes, custom requests are welcome. Beyond the corsage and boutonnière listed here, we make custom corsages, boutonnières, flower crowns, hair flowers and bouquets in any color or flower to match the outfit. Tell us what you have in mind through our custom order form at https://gemmaflowers.com/custom or call (657) 245-4736, and we will quote it for you before you commit.

How much does a prom corsage and boutonnière cost?

The Blush Wrist Corsage is $65.00 and the Classic White Boutonnière is $35.00, so a matching corsage and boutonnière set is $100.00 before tax. Pickup in Irvine is free; delivery is a flat $10 to cities near our Irvine studio and $20 further out in Orange County, with no extra charge for same-day.

Can I pick up my corsage instead of having it delivered?

Yes. Free pickup is at CUP by Blue Hummingbird Coffee, 385 Novel STE B3, Irvine — we meet you outside. Pickup is at CUP only. Delivery is available to homes across Irvine and Orange County.

Should I choose a wrist corsage or a pin-on corsage?

Most prom and homecoming dates wear a wrist corsage: it goes with strapless and thin-strap dresses, stays put while dancing, and does not leave pin marks on the fabric. Our Blush Wrist Corsage is on a pearl bracelet band. A pin-on corsage suits a jacket, a sturdier dress, or a parent or chaperone; ask for one through the custom order form or by phone. Boutonnières pin to the left lapel, and ours comes with two pearl pins in the box.
